Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsMy MAGA neighbor got a bit of "finding out" last night.
I'm going to omit details for anonymity.
I have a MAGA Neighbor who's an immigrant (from Country B) & a disabled veteran. And yes, he voted for Trump & wears a MAGA cap all the time. Makes perfect sense, right? He had a Trump sign in his yard but it strangely disappeared in a day or two.
Last night he apparently approached my Other Neighbor & a shouting match erupted. Well, Other Neighbor was shouting, I think MAGA Neighbor quickly retreated to hide in his house.
I stepped outside to see what the commotion was & heard Other Neighbor yelling about being "tired of your effing white supremacy bullshit" & "YOU should be the one to effing leave, go back to effing Country B" & "get off my land, don't ever come in my effing driveway or effing talk to me again" &, referring to his MAGA cap, "take that effing thing off your effing head."
There was more, he went on for a good 20 minutes at a volume the whole neighborhood could hear, but that's enough to give you the idea.
Afterward I kept thinking that MAGA Neighbor was probably wondering why Other Neighbor got so lividly mad at him. I've seen other MAGAs be totally puzzled when confronted with the anger of people who were hurt by their vote. Stunned. "Why are they so mad at me?!?" They're so clueless, so uninformed & misinformed, they can't understand it.
I'm sure he still doesn't understand it, but I think MAGA Neighbor got a bit of "finding out" that his vote has real consequences for real people, including himself, in the real world. I don't think he'll be venturing anywhere near Other Neighbor anytime soon, probably never.
And I think I now know why MAGA Neighbor's Trump sign disappeared from his yard so quickly.

(40,517 posts)Remember:::: whatever bad that Donald says about "illegals"/undoc immigrants, he would rather hire them than pay Americans.
The very same "illegals"/undoc immigrants that he blames for so much crime.
He only quit hiring them when it became politically inconvenient.

(3,397 posts)benefits. MTG weighed in on the matter now that she's part of the slice-and-fry brigade. She's said (paraphrasing) it's going to be hard, but "we aren't going to care" if it makes people feel bad.
If this cut occurs, there's going to be lots of MAGA-guy regrets.

(6,125 posts)I have not seen anything like that happen here, but Im not up one when most people are usually.
One thing I did notice was that there were almost no political signs this year. I didnt see any psychos signs anywhere except on a bridge, and I saw on one house near where I walk all Democratic signs.

(184 posts)Last week Thom Hartmann played a clip of
Homan threatening to do just that. How he could do that is unclear.
Pretty sure he can't strip someone of their citizenship simply because he doesn't like their ethnicity. Also, Vance's wife is US born. Vance has acknowledged attacks on her from jerks like Nick Fuentes.but he hasn't defended her either. Apologize for taking so long to answer.

(40,517 posts)"is US born" - Yep. - In their hate, Trumpsters can find a way around that. Maybe 'sins of the parents' type logic.
Passed down to the children like original sin in their newer, non-weak, non-woke version of Christianity.
That US Constitution has some inconvenient stuff in it that they would like to delete.

(3,745 posts)Prior to the election, there were fewer Trump yard signs and flags flying on trucks and golf carts. Were a resort beach town with about 2,500 residents, but 5,500 golf carts. The tourists love them.
After the election, I have seen more Trump flags flying on trucks and golf carts, including flags saying F**k Your Feelings.
It seems Trump supporters were tentative before he won, but now are emboldened, gloating, and taunting. Im sure you know the types
a******s.

In rural SWGa, just a few miles south of Pres. Carters home. I see MANY more trump signs post-election, and a whole lot of Farmers for Trump signs have suddenly appeared
like yeah, DUH, TSF is really going to be great for you farmers, lol.
This is Sanford Bishops district and he always wins re-election.
Make it make sense!

(2,074 posts)I'm lucky, I live in a 2/3 blue precinct, and there were NO signs for either presidential candidate in this race or past ones. There were a few for propositions, council members etc.
But my gut told me that post-election, his supporters would be as you say - emboldened, gloating, and taunting. They were anxiously awaiting another storming the capital moment had Kamala won, now they're free to do as they please. They feel in charge, and they want attention.

Most all government, federal and state pensions and retirements will go away to pay the debt for all the tax give aways to the filthy-rich. By Trump's 4th year, it will be like the Great Depression.

(19,905 posts)A street hawker approached me with some brochure, I didnt even notice what it was about because as he approached I saw he had red MAGA hat on and I just raised my hand slightly and said not interested. Now this was a pretty good sized Black guy, about 62, 240, and as I passed him he shouts at me Hey! you aint got no time for the n#*%%a? I stopped and said just loud enough that those around us could hear me too, That has nothing to do with anything, that hat youre wearing though tells me I dont want anything to do with what youre selling. As he stood there kinda blinking at me I just turned around and kept walking.

(1,631 posts)It wasn't the Trumper neighbor who caused a scene. According to the OP, he just went into his house when the other neighbor went off. In this case, "fuck around" indicates who someone voted for and nothing else and that's not okay. The situation could easily be reversed with the Harris voter being accused of "fucking around" for simply voting for their preferred candidate. Bad idea to support this.
Sympthsical
(10,402 posts)And I'm always skeptical of these kinds of tales that comport so perfectly with the political sentiment currently trending, I'm trying to divine how the behavior described should be applauded in any way.
If one of my neighbors was raving outside for half an hour, I would not be interacting with that neighbor ever again. Or at least not until I'd heard they were checked out by a mental health professional. (In my neighborhood, cops would've been called easily 10 mins in). And if I had kids, forget it. They'd not be allowed near this person. Anyone who manages that is wrestling with stability at best. What else might that person find themselves willing to do if they're already at that point?
But this is why I'm always skeptical. People do not behave this way generally. It sounds more like how people think other people in the world might behave, so there's some, uh, narrative building. Or maybe some augmentation for juiciness.
But, as you said, the FA and the FO are not what is surmised here. I think the ranter just FA'd and he's going to FO just how many normies are about to politely avoid him. Again, assuming this is true. Real people don't typically act like Twitter, which is why they're so hard to write for sometimes. If there was a cashier watching from the curb while smiling knowingly and giving a secret thumbs up, we could put a bow on this one.

(1,631 posts)Hopefully, because if people are this unhinged and full of rage then what's next - shooting their neighbor because of who they voted for?

(20 posts)A few houses around here quickly removed their Felon/Hillbilly yard signs and those ridiculous big truck flags after the election. I almost think they wanted him to lose so they could stay angry and aggrieved without the responsibility. They were a-holes who illegally blocked roads with truck parades. I wonder what would happen if they tried that now. This is a blue area.
Roc2020
(1,718 posts)this was just another election and now it's back to business as usual. No. They don't understand just how angry and infuriated Harris voters are. Because they can't see the anger in an action so apparent as storming the capital. But they will face that anger in a myriad of other ways over the next four years. Your neighbor is just one example.
soandso
(1,631 posts)If you're talking about not associating that's sensible. If you're talking about what the OP described, then what other ways along those lines? Egging the neighbor's house, flattening their tires, punching them out?
Roc2020
(1,718 posts)are not violent but not legal either. one example, Jobs. I really think in a job interview in some cases, if the person doing the interview is a harris supporter if the applicant is maga and the interviewer finds out, they may not get that job. overall business. I think some harris voters are going to try and find out if whatever service they want if that company donated to maga etc. I really think some harris supporters are so angry they are going to use their money as revenge. And frankly the richest people in the country are harris voters. I myself am seriously thinking about leaving sams and go to costco. I may be overthinking it, but I think harris voters are that angry.

People who dont pay back their student loans are lazy. She is a huge tRump supporter and has major influence on my grandsons. She has no understanding of how the government works and thinks tRump will lower prices. My question is why did she come to my country to install a dictator? She could have stayed in Honduras and not help to end Democracy here!
