President Carter: I was thinking about him, about how he managed to

hang in there long enough to vote for Kamala, and how we had hoped he would live long enough to see her inaugurated. Of course, now January 20th will usher in the reign of terror, part deux, and it occurs to me to wonder about what happens if President Carter dies after that date. Would there be a state funeral? Any kind of recognition, anything?

The things one wonders about on a cold and windy afternoon.

But I would not count on the dotard being invited to give a eulogy. The Bush family certainly didn’t invite the dotard when GHWB died in 2018.

It would behoove the dotard to at least follow protocol. After all, he has fewer days ahead of him than behind him; he might want to take notes. His gal MTG is from Georgia too….

And if I was a betting woman, TSF will have nothing to do, say or travel for any of it. President Carter professed to be a Christian and he walked the walk n talked the talk but I doubt seriously he’d have an invitation set aside for TSF who is morally bankrupt. I’d also bet he’s made his peace with his Creator about his life’s decisions here on Earth but whatever happens, my deepest respect for him remains.

In Washington, even death is political – a fact McCain well understood as a sought-after eulogizer himself, and by planning his funeral rites to exclude the President, he will be making an unmistakable posthumous statement directed at the White House.

John McCain may have been a "r" but I liked him. He could not have had a better message than the one televised to the nation.

EDIT: P.S. I absolutley love Jimmy Carter.

Would he order such a dastardly deed? Not knowing that someday his time will come, and how does he want to be remembered? As the Godfather? As a jokester and stand-up comedian? As a member of an elite club of billionaires that rule over their countries? Or as a patriot that loved his country? Which do you think?

often allow their foes an ostentatious display as a way of appropriating some of the public good will for the deceased? Certainly Republicans have no shame in trying to steal the good will from leaders that they fought intensely like JFK and Dr King.

Fox will show only highlights of mourners when they catch them in a yawn or looking to the side and then falsely claim this was how they and the rest of the crowd acted when the procession passed. Then they’ll show a clip of trump reading a prepared statement in which he ad libs about how unfair the media is treating him by giving some dead guy all this attention.
