(16,708 posts)The time it takes will vary by state, but the seats won't be vacant for long. The water will find its level sooner than later.
And the vote margin in the House is always variable throughout the term anyway, with 435 seats generally held by older people and no appointments possible. So the vote margin today isn't the vote margin tomorrow, never mind the whole term as a rule.

(44,907 posts)For a period of time, pending the outcome of special elections to fill the seats being vacated by Gaetz, Stefanik and Waltz, it will be 217, 215D. Alll three of the special elections are in districts that the R's won with over 60 percent of the vote, which means, being realistic, all three will stay in repub hands. The only one that i could even conceive of flipping is Stefanik's district in New York, which is only rated R+4, although the fact she got 62% of the vote suggests it might be a tough race to flip.

MORE than do-able, and note during the 1-2 years, repugs will be wrecking things, so we'll actually have AMMUNITION!!!

Look for a push for a government shutdown very early on.
They may seem to goosestep in order, but their party is all about chaos and confusion.
