What are you thankful for?

Last edited Thu Nov 28, 2024, 03:01 PM - Edit history (1)

Like most (all?) of you this Thanksgiving is a bit tough for me.

If President Harris was taking the oath of office on Jan 20 I would have so much more to be thankful for. Instead, I feel like disaster is approaching, a disaster that will hit us all on Jan 20.

Yes I have my loved ones, a roof over my head, & a good business, but I cannot shake the sense of dread, of fear, over what might come to pass in the next four years. Not just for myself but especially for all the vulnerable folks who will be subjected to more hate & discrimination.

I am thankful for my wonderful wife, my dear friends, a house that's paid for, all my customers who keep calling me back & telling me I'm the best, my relatively good health (I can't complain but sometimes I still do), & my music which has given me solace & helped me find peace since I first started playing as a pre-teen.

What are you thankful for?

I think it might help us all if we shared what we're thankful for today.

I've been to dozens of countries and visited 100's of historically significant places...

And there are still more...

Right now I'm planning a combo trip to Malta and Tunisia... want to see the historical site of Carthage.

I'm thankful for Nicolle, Rachel, Lawrence, Stephanie, Ari, and many contributors on MSNBC and for the GOOD writers (such as Jen Rubin) at WaPo, NYT, Guardian, and many other papers.

That I have a nice comfortable house and enough food for all who come here.

That I am lucky enough to live in a nice community near a great city.

For IRL friends and neighbors.

For my cats, including my fosters.

For my generally good health.

For tennis.

Even with the ravages that dementia did to her mind, she was still aware enough to be grateful when Biden beat him and we had sane leadership here in the US.
