I will follow Ali Velshi wherever he goes.

If we lose MSNBC, I will find him and follow him. He is a brilliant journalist and a great human being.

Watching him this morning.

May 30, 2020
NBC News reporters Ali Velshi, Morgan Chesky, and their respective crews found themselves in the center of the clash between police and protesters in Minneapolis. Velshi was struck in the leg by a rubber bullet. Chesky and his crew evaded tear gas after a flash-bang went off near them.

There were not! he was not there when daytime broke and we saw all the vandalism and looting of many minority owned businesses.

Until then, yes, I followed him. From CNN to Aljazeera and then to MSNBC with Stephanie Ruhle and then his own.

But his shameful comments during the riots sealed him for me.

Not that it will matter to anyone but was waiting for an opportunity to say thus.

and his "Books" shows are really great. A guy named Mike Feder was a long time radio guy around NYC and he used to do a talk program that was excellent where he would mix it up between books and interviewing authors, interviewing musicians, reminiscing about how NYC was growing up, how the Beat/Folk scene was etc. Really nice guy and I had some nice correspondence with him over the years.

I'm hoping the good ones quit and start their own youtubes, podcasts, write books, etc. They may not make the kind of money they do presently, but they'll be making a decent and an honest living.

Velshi and Maddow might be your favorite liberal news analysts but they are so good because they're hooked up to the enormous NBC news gathering establishment. Without the newsgathering army these two (and others) would resemble Randi Rhodes on the FreeSpeech channel; relying on something clipped from yesterday's news and trying to stretch it into an hourlong show. Randi Rhodes could be the next Rachel Maddow if only she had the impressive newsgathering support available at NBC, but without it she's a voice crying in the wilderness.

Also appreciate his interview of Maria Ressa, the Philippine journalist and author of the fascinating book, "How to Stand up to a Dictator". I highly recommend it.

Lest we forget his weekly "Banned Book Club". Ali Velshi is a gem. Truth to power!
