And I feel the same way. I'm very happy and relieved that President Biden has done this.

(53,039 posts)when he said he wouldn't pardon Hunter, but that was before Trump won - and before the worst nominations ever, nominations making it clear that Trump's second term will be a lawless reign of terror going after anyone Trump wants revenge on. Hunter Biden would have been an obvious and easy target in prison, and Trump could have arranged one incident after another where Hunter got hurt, tormenting Joe and Jill and all their family. That was always a possibility, but after these despicable nominations, it seemed a certainty.

(53,039 posts)believe Joe was lying. I believe he changed his mind as it became more obvious that Trump would be the worst we've imagined.
Trump used to talk at rallies about reporters he disliked being jailed and then raped. Safe bet he and his pals have been "joking" about Hunter being raped or worse.
Trump is a sadist who likes to toy with people. He would never be able to resist hurting Hunter to hurt Joe. Trump will never forgive Joe for beating him four years ago.

(7,189 posts)The Republicans planned to make a circus of the whole revenge prosecution thing.
It protects both Hunter and President Biden.
There isn't a single Republican in the US with anywhere near the integrity, compassion, and empathy of President Biden. Not to mention his ability to perform the duties of President with wisdom and grace.
Biden leads, Trump rules. As a Constitutional Democratic Republic, we need a leader, not a ruler. That's Joe. He will go down in history as one of the truly great Presidents of all time.
Trump will be remembered for his lack of any and all qualities that would have defined him as presidential.
