I sometimes think that Trump...

...should be able to have his cabinet of clowns. I think that Americans won't wake up to the disaster until they see it happen in real time and firsthand.

Maybe some of the first-generation immigrants who voted for Trump need to see their cousin or niece, who was brought to America at a young age, pulled from their school or home, placed in a detention camp and deported. Maybe the Arabs and Muslims who couldn't bring themselves to vote for Harris need to see the utter devastation in Gaza, supported by Trump, and the executive orders depriving them of their rights. Maybe the 25% of women who voted for Trump but support reproductive rights need to see national abortion bans. Maybe the union workers who voted for Trump to keep "wokeism" out of the American workplace need to see their unions decimated by national right to work laws, putting their jobs and pensions at risk. Maybe Americans need to see a runaway pandemic because more than 25% of American believe the bullshit from RFK Jr. and fail to get themselves and their families vaccinated. Maybe the 22% of young black men who thought that it was "cool" to vote for Trump need to see the Department of Justice not enforce the civil rights laws and grant immunity to police. Maybe those of us who believe in the Constitution need to see members of the press arrested for what they say and wright.

Just maybe.

The problem is, if that were to happen (and it might anyway, but hopefully the worst of the worst won't be approved), the damage to this country could be so devastating and widespread so as to make it questionable whether the country can even be saved.

Herd immunity!

Let the virus weed out those that don't survive the virus and especially the elderly.

Only I am now elderly... I don't feel elderly, but the number of daily medications is growing.

That is the big issue with the "let them FAFO"... it is that a lot of us didn't FA but we will be subject to the FO part.

Do a million people in Gaza have to FO because a few hundred thousand of Muslims that may have originated from the middle east FA with the election?
Do the people that were "well, we are law abiding hard working people of Latin origin so Trump is only going to deport the criminals" need to have Uncle Jose deported to a country he doesn't know and never lived in since he was 2?
Do I need to die of bird flu after it mutates into something that infects humans because I am 68 and the CDC doesn't believe that there is "any safe and effective vaccine"?
And the children that would be in head start miss out, requiring their moms and dads to either pay for child care and thus miss out in the competition for early learning?

Part of me says yeah, FAFO... that will teach them... and part of me knows that NOTHING will teach the MAGA cult members, especially when Trump and Eloon control the media... and we all suffer under the new authoritarian government.

A red one and a blue one.
Each could live as they want.
There would be plenty of help and funds to help people move to the sides they want to live in.

We would have no conservatives to fuck things up politically.Racism and corruption would be punished and diversity and equality would be practiced in life and the law. We’d have universal healthcare, transparency, a free press and communities would thrive as our priorities became law of the land.

And the reds they’d have no liberals or gays or blacks browns ect. To “threaten” them. They’d have thier “values” be the law .They’d be ruled by corrupt authoritarians like they like and prefer. They’d have church and fox feeding propaganda 24/7 there would be no civil rights.

If they attempted to migrate to the blue side
They would not be admitted unless they could not vote or run for any office period

because republicans brains are different than liberal ones if they didn’t accept our terms and values they’d be deported back to thier natural habitat..

I know it’s a dream. A dream I would love to see. A country without conservatism.

Actually, I shouldn't even say rw radio. Just saying radio is enough.

I've been doing that lately in long drives. They do not talk about anything other than attacking Dems and spewing rw talking points. If you listen to the radio or watch this, you literally do
not hear about what's really going on. It was an all out assault on hunter and the pardon. It fuels their mantra of corrupt Dems ruining America and of course the projection with nepotism, etc . It isn't hard to see why so many voted for trump if they listen to radio or fox because many folks dont read or look into anything beyond those sources. and if they are in social media, their friends and algorithms feeds them more of the same.

The house and senate can independently go on recess for up to 3 days, more than that and they both have to agree to the recess. The supreme court has ruled that the senate must be on recess for 10 days or more for the president to make a valid recess appointment. That means the senate can refuse to go on recess in order to block recess appointments.

The fly in the ointment (and the part I'm still trying to confirm) is that, if the house agrees to the recess and the senate doesn't, then the tie breaker is the president telling them to recess or not. If this is the case, then if republican senators refuse to go on recess and Mike Johnson agrees to it, then Trump will have the final say and he'll get his recess.

I hope I'm wrong about this. I think they would prefer to go through the normal confirmation process, but are likely willing to go around it. My guess would be that they push through as many of his freaks as the senate can stomach and then play the recess card for the ones that are a bridge too far for even the republicans

Edited: I confirmed it, Trump gets to decide if congress goes on recess if the house and senate can't agree.

Regardless of what decent people do Trump is still President-elect and as of Jan 20 he has immense power.

As for the idea of let the place burn down while we laugh at MAGA tears: never happen. We are dealing with MAGATs. They DO NOT CARE EVEN ONE LITTLE BIT if the place burns down. In their world Trump won in a historic landslide, they owned the libs, and that’s all that matters.

Without people to stop him from stupid ideas, and no deep state to actually function the executive branch, he is making his presidency much harder than his first term. Where he merely phoned it in. He is going to phone it in again, but this time he has agents of chaos all around him. It's going to be an incredible ego feast and I expect your fired to be the catch phrase of the 4 years. . . CHAOS.

They voted for this.

The millions who stayed home tacitly voted for this.

They have majorities in both the house and senate. They will approve all of these people -- no matter how repugnant.

This is what America deserves. This is a "Where have all the flowers gone " moment -- oh when will they ever learn?

I am looking at jobs overseas because I cannot see enough Republicans with spines to push against any of this.

Especially since we are certain that over 80% of them are compromised with hidden scandals of their own and Mango Mussolini and minions will gladly have the IRS, DOJ, and FBI make any disloyal republican pay a severe price. Add to that the fact that the TRUMP IS KING ruling says that appointments are a Presidents official duty -- so detaining or killing a few senators to do that official act of the president is OK.

Educated women will flee the country to find jobs. Others that have family elsewhere will leave as well. And those that can’t, young and old will consider suicide. Life without birth control and safe abortion is deadly either way. Be careful what you wish for.
