I'm from Jackson County NC---same as this guy. FEMA has been here since the beginning of the disaster. They're still here to help people who need it.

First, we had to get everyone to safety, then we had to get our infrastructure back up and going. Then we had to rush to get everyone into safe housing. Now it's time to clean up the debris fields. We have roads and bridges that still need to be repaired, and this guy is an idiot if he thinks it's going to happen over night.

Ironically the Republican majority state house & senate have dragged their feet passing a bill to help rebuild the area. They finally passed a bill but it was mostly aimed at restricting voting in the future and only half of the money that the Democratic governor requested.

Our biggest problem in the area is the loss of tourism. The "news cycle" told people not to come. Heck---people like him got on facebook and told people not to come. A major interstate highway is closed. This young guy needs to tighten his belt and get ready for several years of bad tourism in the area. Tourists don't come if it's raining, they're certainly not going to come if they have to take a detour to get here.

6. Not sure what he expected.

It was about 2 months ago and the devastation was all the way from Florida up. Plus the other hurricane. Where does he think all that equipment would come from? Also he might want to ask the republicans who drug their feet on replenishing fema funds. If he thinks tfg would actually help maybe write him a letter. I know it’s got to be hell there still in some areas. Realistically it could be years before a full recovery. With the damage done there’s no way that much equipment could be brought in all at once. It would be nice to have that much equipment on hand all the time. But there’s no way republicans would approve the cost.

10. He's funny. Where I live got slammed by hurricane Michael.

Eighty percent of our trees came down falling onto homes, businesses, power lines etc. It took many months to clear the debris. Eight years later there are still smashed buildings that have yet to be cleared. They told us it would take 10 years to get back to normal and they were right. I understand his frustration but get a grip dude.
