In defense of Joe Biden.

Joe's pardon of Hunter is a credit to his good judgment and character. Statements he made prior to Trump's election were predicated on America's long tradition of equal justice before the law. After Trump's election, that is no longer a credible expectation. Joe's decision is a clear-eyed recognition that we are entering a new era of corrupt and illegitimate use of the courts.

There may no longer be ANY justice - that being based on trump's plans for retribution. Biden had no choice other than to pardon Hunter. And I don't want to hear any 'Biden lied' arguments. The situation at the Justice Department is about to change dramatically. Biden saw that and reevaluated his position and did the right thing,.

"The pardoning of Hunter Biden by Joe was 'Joe Biden's final FUCK YOU to tRump.'"

I am certain he will see it. What will tRump do other than DEMAND Joe be impeached? There are not 67 Senators willing to vote to convict him and thus expunge the last 4 years of accomplishments that tRump plans to take full credit for.

Changed his mind. I never understood him saying he wouldn’t pardon his son. Now with less then 60 days why the hell not pardon him?

One could change their minds as new information comes forward.

I am merely stating that he didn't pivot on election night.

As recently as 7 November - just two days after Donald Trump clinched his return to the White House - Biden administration officials were still insisting that the president had no intention of pardoning his son.

When asked in a news conference if President Biden would be tempted to help Hunter, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said: “We’ve been asked that question multiple times, our answer stands, which is no.”

Biden also emphasised in June that he was “satisfied” that his son had received a fair trial - in contrast to his comments on Sunday where he said Hunter had been the subject of “a miscarriage of justice”.

I didn't say that Biden made his decision at that point, I said that the expectation of equal justice before the law changed at that time. I think that Biden didn't expect Trump to win. When he did, like all of us, Joe needed some time to process the shock and consider the new landscape. When Trump stated that he would nominate Hunter-obsessed Kash Patel to head the FBI, Trump signaled his commitment to retribution and left Joe with little choice.

Why should Democrats or Biden expect Trump to follow laws, democracy or common sense. Trump and his administration nominees have stated several times, they are going after democrats and Americans for standing up to him.

No one gets prosecuted for incorrectly filling out the gun background form. And it's possible based on recent second amendment rulings that the law is unconstitutional. As far as the tax evasion, all back taxes and penalties have been paid.

All the outrage is much ado about nothing. He didn't hurt anyone other than himself.
