there was focus on the "missing" trillions and the fact that DoD just failed another audit (there have been numerous previous audits, also failed). Musk also said it was absurd to make something like F15s (I think that's what it was) because we're in the drone age now. They may move to cut what you said but there is a shit ton of shady stuff that needs to be dealt with. Remember when Cynthia McKinney grilled Rumsfeld about a missing two TRILLION? Well, that has not stopped and many more trillions have disappeared since then.

If he has any 2028 hopes remaining,
I think he would be better positioned as Secretary of Defense,
than as a Senator from Florida--- presuming he didn't fuck it up beyond all recognition

9. Rick Scott was just re-elected for a six year term. Not sure why he's relevant to this discussion.

The real question is why would DeSantis take secretary of defense instead of resigning as governor and have the Lt Governor name him as Rubio's replacement. That would give him the inside track to serve out the rest of Rubio's term, ending in 2028, and then to run for Senate for a new term or, to make another presidential run.
