Fresh campaign financing data shows that Elon Musk poured more than $260 million into political groups in 2024 that helped Donald Trump win the presidential election and, consequently, secured a position for himself as the co-head of government efficiency, according to the Federal Election Commission.
The New York Times reported that Musk and the entities he controls disclosed about $277 million in donations to federal groups this election cycle.

The bulk of Musks donation, roughly $238.5 million, went to the America PAC, a super political action committee he founded in the spring that largely focused on the presidential race. Reports have shown that the America PAC funded ads across social media that impersonated Democrats and their stances with cartoonishly woke and inaccurate sentiments.
Super PACs can accept unlimited donations, and Musk has said he expects the PAC to keep grinding through the midterms.

(121,502 posts)Have you noticed that we haven't seen much of Trump at all lately? Has he finally gone 'round the bend mentally and Elon is running the show?

(17,044 posts)Trump mostly just babbles. There was a time leading up to the election when we didn't see him. I don't know how much longer he's going to last. I guess they'll just keep him around to entertain the MAGAts, like they did with Reagan. Other people, will be happy to take over.

The modern iteration is looking a LOT more neocon-ish, wealthy and elitist...
And it's not just me saying it... the polls spoke.

That's my take after reading another cruel exchange he had with her after the election.
