Tommy Tuberville says it's not his job to vet Trump's cabinet nominees - please make it stop

Every Republican act and utterance over the last eight years has proved that in the GOP’s race to the bottom, there is no bottom. But if there were, they have the horses to find it. And God knows they’re trying. It would take more ink than my allotment to list every angry, bigoted moron on the MAGA team. But today, Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), has made a strong claim to the dumbest of them all.

On Thursday, this doltish buffoon added to his legacy of idiocy by telling CNN’s Manu Raju that GOP senators should not be responsible for vetting Trump’s cabinet picks.

Sometimes one is faced with such sublime stupidity you do not know whether to be awed by the extent of it. Or shudder at the thought that a fellow countryman — one of the 100 at the pinnacle of the legislative hill — is so unrelentingly moronic.

I will let Tuberville explain his ‘thinking’ (I have interpreted the term generously). Following is the substance of his chat with Raju.
