US News Media is Broken

At least if about 15 minutes ago not a single major US news channel was covering Syria and the falling of a brutal dictator.
You had to go to international media like BBC News to find live coverage.
Absolutely embarrassing. "Freedom of the Press" is pointless if the press no longer wants to be free but embraces dictatorship.

They were doing a documentary on immigrants.
I don't watch them though. Just flipped to see what they were doing.

Makes sense, since Sky News has the resources for this kind of thing, and that they try to compete with the British Broadcasting Corp.

The worst media coverage of a Presidential election in my lifetime took place in 2000. The media made no effort to hide its support for W.

No mention of POTUS Biden on Times of Israel homepage.

There is a Trump subsection on the lower right below the two articles linked.

I was constantly refreshing my timelines throught the evening and many of the non-MSM posters, orgs, and groups I follow were calling states for Harris and Trump long before the MSM networks would. My apolitical wife was watching HGTV until about 11 PM, while I was constantly refreshing FB and X. Once I started watching the networks after she went to bed, I was surprised they werent counting many of the states I had understood to have already been called.

Today’s MSM reminds me of those ads they used to run on TV when I was a kid where they would say “please allow 6-8 for delivery.”

They way they want it to operate is generally noxious to the rest of us, which really sucks for almost everyone but them.

was spewing right wing crap about "why the U.S. voted for trump." and then why voters don't like our governor (Newsom).
It was nuts! It wasn't news, it was just a 30-second scripted op-ed read by the "newscaster."
Right out of left field. Then she went on with other news like the former comments were all fact.

A response to a comment I made about this, including msnbc was that this was all we had. Boy…that is sad! That’s like an abused wife saying her husband was her only choice. No…no it isn’t. We need to wake up and stop giving them our attention.

Yes, BBC is good. I like DWNews too.

Both local and national. And tv went off the air at midnight

If one argues that people were more informed back then, maybe we should return to that.
