It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

“It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”
― J. Krishnamurti

An interesting quote I found, but if you know, you know.

From the late author's website.

https://annewilsonschaef.com/books/society-becomes-addict/

Often unknowingly the vast majority of us collude in a system that encourages addiction and co-dependence – and sees these states as normal. Many of us are addicted to chemicals, not only to alcohol or drugs but nicotine, caffeine, chocolate and overeating in general. Even more of us are involved in addictive processes: workaholism, gambling, compulsive shopping, sex, and so on. The realization of the extent of our addictions, both individually and as a society, is shocking but this book shows that these addictions can be identified and reversed.

In what sane world do the poor subsidize the rich, do people shit on the walls of government buildings, do felons and rapists attain high office, and are invited to Notre Dame Cathedral, only to fill it full of farts?

And worse: Where does damn near everyone worship a false green God?

control of them to the elite rich.

We allow healthcare to be held hostage by shareholders. In some states. we do the same with education.

And then we bicker about which leader makes us feel good about ourselves.
