Nato will be fine.. Trump cannot unilaterally just up and walk away..

https://thehill.com/homenews/4360407-congress-approves-bill-barring-president-withdrawing-nato/

"Congress has approved legislation that would prevent any president from withdrawing the United States from NATO without approval from the Senate or an Act of Congress.

The measure, spearheaded by Sens. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) and Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), was included in the annual National Defense Authorization Act, which passed out of the House on Thursday and is expected to be signed by President Biden. "

Same thing. Good law, but our allies are on their own for the next four years.

They're talking about "impounding" funds congress allocates, i.e., not spending on what congress appropriated spending for.

So Donnie could use that to halt helping Ukraine. Zelenskyy sees the writing on the wall and has signaled he will consider peace in exchange for nato membership, apparently even conceding crimea to Russia.

This would allow Putin to take over if he can rebuild his military against a weakened Ukraine. Or he can take over the baltic states. Then Donnie will refuse to help, as he indicated during the campaign.

Congress can hoot and holler about the treaty and this new bill, not what could they do if Donnie just says no?

I can't fathom it, but this could indicate Trump may not be allowed to destroy the world.

My dad was insisting this was true.
I said at the time that was no reason to threaten to pull out.

I don't like Rubio and think he is a lazy fool but I feel like he will mostly do the right thing in keeping the basic things in place like NATO.

I wonder if Trump knows Rubio sponsored this.
