Shawn Taylor, assistant police chief in Millersville, Tenn.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) Shawn Taylor, the conspiracy-minded cop now at the center of a criminal investigation, has resigned from his position as assistant chief for the Millersville Police Department after less than a year on the job.
Town employees were given the news late last week in a vaguely worded email from a police sergeant.
"Assistant Chief Taylor has officially retired from the Millersville Police Department, and we wish him the very best on his new venture in his law enforcement career," Tiffany VanSciver wrote.

Taylor, 50, has become the focus of a criminal probe by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation following questions first raised by NewsChannel 5 Investigates. TBI agents raided the Millersville Police Department and Taylor's home back in September.
The TBI investigation focuses on the possible misuse of sensitive law enforcement data in investigating Taylor's political enemies, as well as questions about possible perjury in a child predator sting that Taylor orchestrated with private "pedophile hunters."
That investigation is continuing.
