The University of Texas Eliminates DEI, lays off staff, cuts support.

Because the Texas GOP passed a state law that bans diversity, equity, and inclusion offices at public universities, because the Texas GOP opposes diversity, equity and inclusion, because....Texas.

UT closed their DEI office and reassigned its staff to other jobs in accordance with state legislation.

Then, after complaints that this wasn't enough from the legislature and anti-DEI activists, they fired those employees anyway, from their other jobs.

after growing up in a county that was 40% Black. Seems the county won out over the University.
