I cannot help but notice that Democratic reps are discussing Luigi rather than addressing overpriced Health Insurance

Gov. Shapiro, Fetterman, I'm sure many more.

Has everyone in DC been assimilated?

If so, we are f***ed like we've never been before.

I hardly see where that means assimilation.

Seems to me being glad about said murder is a sign of assimilation.

except for a small # of DUers in the gungeon. Any time there is a school shooting, here we discuss the need to do something about guns. Among the right, it's always only about the "lone wolf" who played video games or was disturbed.

But, IMO, they'd be risking a lot of criticism if they brought it up now, after this murder. It would be as if they were implying that the shooting was justified.

With few exceptions, they have worn their larynxes out for years talking about it and no one has listened. To jump on that right now would make "Dems think Shooting Someone in the Back is Okay" become the headline.

There's a great clip of Elizabeth Warren talking to Witty (Thompson's boss at UHC) that someone posted on DU just this morning.

They still think capitulation will buy them goodwill from the thugs

It only empowers them

the industry.

We, you know, the people whose care is denied by those entities, don't have super PACs to donate tons of cash to them....so, they will vote for the money over the people.

There are a few exceptions, but not as many as you'd think.

Here we are 14 years later and it is now unaffordable.

At the time, we were told everyone would be able to afford health insurance, and with so many healthy customers added, that the costs of insurance for everyone would go down by a couple thousand dollars a year. What happened?

Think. Again.

Our system is protected by both parties.

In spite of massive grass roots funding the big checks still come from the big players.

These big players own the media including social media.

Until we get money out of politics we’re screwed.

And I don’t think we ever will get money out of politics.

instead of discussing **WHY** he was protesting in the first place... (For those who forgot, he was protesting unarmed black folks minding their own business getting killed by trigger-happy police and white vigilantes, and then seeing those killers walk in court)...

Or like how the media could spend weeks debating the merits of TFG's accusations that Haitian immigrants were eating pets or Venezuelan gangs had completely commandeered the City of Aurora, Colorado instead of discussing the fact that he's of unsound mind and belongs in a nursing home or the fact that Vance NOT ONLY OPENLY SAID IT WAS A LIE, BUT ALSO THAT IT'S PERFECTLY OKAY FOR HIM TO TELL BLATANT LIES IF IT MAKES A POLITICAL POINT(!)

And yes, this "steering" of the narrative is totally intentional.

Elected officials from all two parties helped create the system we have. You may have voted for some of them. Just because they say they're "blue" doesn't mean they're on your side. Manchin and Sinema are only the most obvious examples.
