I don't watch cable news much so here's my question

Are they filling hour after hour, day after day with the millions of personal testimonials available of people who were ground up and spit out by our health care system, including the insurance scam? I suspect I know the answer.

Instead they are likely talking endlessly about the assailant, about Brian Thompson, the crime, its investigation, resolution and subsequent legal proceedings. They likely repeat the same info ad nauseam, buttressed by a selection of customary pundits and aim at keeping viewers glued for the advertising.

Why ever would they want to highlight the systemic cause of the entire saga, the deeper problems that affect almost everyone in the nation, when they can play the true crime game? We don't want the rabble to change focus when it is time to spend holiday money, now do we?

Their only god is profit and they don't want to be irreverent.
