Trump is trolling us....don't take the bait!

This Panama Canal stuff is designed to get the left in an uproar and distract from his problems and sagging approval ratings. He says crazy shit so we can be outraged. Trump is not going to do anything! We did this a lot the past few years. I'm used to get outraged all the time, but I'm not anymore. That dog won't hunt anymore.

Being in perpetual outrage mode isn’t healthy or useful. A waste of energy and time. He spews just to be spewing. 80% of which will never happen. We should have learned that the first go round. Is it still going to get ugly? Yes it is But please don’t go wild with the hyperbole. It’s not helpful and you’re hurting yourself in the process.

but when you are dealing with a demented, narcissistic, mean, vile, rapist fraud, cheating felon, you never know for sure. Panama is on his shit list, and he is conducting a Retribution Tour. What's most alarming is that he is actually thinking about this. Would you get elected, then spend your time on Panama? If your properties in Panama were deleted from your portfolio, and you were a vindictive asshole, you might try to get back.

It does seem impossible that the world would allow invasion. We invaded Panama before, and overthrew a dictatorship, but Panama doesn't even have a standing army, only militias. There are a lot of drug dealers and such. And, of course, there was tRump with his stupid hotels.

I'm not staying up at night worrying about this. Good point you made about not falling for it. It's a matter to tuck away in the corner, being aware but not allowing tRump to control you through fear.

will consist of trying to arouse international interest in pressuring Panama to lower its fees for use of the canal.

Another tactic will be to claim that China is attempting to control the canal so the US has to take it over as a protectorate.

All BS excuses for personal revenge.

I wonder what China's reaction woukd be to a US takeover of the canal. The rest of the world needs to stand in solidarity against these stunts by Trump. If it doesn't, he will get worse.

Even though Mr. Trump is increasingly too senile to run anything, I don't doubt that there are pro MAGA oligarchs who would like to have that kind of control over world commerce.

He truly believes that as president he can do anything that comes into his damaged mind. Who is to stop him?

If he wants the Panama Canal back, what is to stop him from dispatching the most powerful military in the world to forcibly take it? Simple answer, nothing (short of a major constitutional crisis whereby the military refuses to carry out what would clearly an illegal order). National security is always a handy catch all for violence. Sounds absurd, but the idea of Trump as president is absurd.

A German phrase that describes a period of insecurity, uncertainty and emotional turmoil.

It's Trump's modus operandi, to keep you off balance and trepidatiously in fear.
And keep him in the spotlight - his main goal, to be sure!
The MSM laps it up! (Trump is wearing a striped tie today, what does it mean? Shock! Horror!)

But rest assured gentle folk, Trump is an ideas man, full of bluff and bluster - for the above reasons - but remember the long list of things he promised to do before he first came into the White House and never delivered on that once he planted his degenerate self in the Oval Office chair?
(No, I don't remember most of that, it was too long a list.)

It is the same this time around.
If the Panama 'rescue', his promises to 'solve' the Russian-Ukraine and the Israeli-Middle East conflicts overnight never eventuate, ridicule him whenever you can to whoever you can, not just here.
He hates that!

Are we in for a bad time? Undoubtedly. But being forewarned is part of the solution. Expect chaos, prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

Don't think of an elephant. The more we "point out" how monstrous he is, the more power we give him. It saps us. DO NOT get caught up in the immobilizing negativity and chaos of DT.

Keep talking up accomplishments of the Democratic Party and the gains of the Biden administration. DO NOT LET THEM TAKE CREDIT! Getting loud and proud about Democratic accomplishments isn't just for election years.

We are responsible for the excellent economy. The infrastructure act, caps on medications. Since 1989, 50,000 of the 52,000 million jobs added to the economy were added under Democratic Administrations.

Often, I think we are reluctant to "toot our own horn" because we think we should have done more. That MUST end. There are some great things going on in Blue States and we need to highlight them and highlight the contrast to Red States.

Trump and his acolytes want us to be immersed in his horror show. And over, and over, and over, we oblige. If we break away, they do something more outrageous to drag us back. And when we spend time "spreading the word" about how horrible he is, we are, once again, immersed in his shit.

Yes. Lobbying our elected officials to oppose the worst appointments and actions is Essential, but do not fall into the trap of focusing SOLELY on opposition. For everything we oppose, we should have a comparison of something positive our Party did when we were in power or something we are doing in Blue States that is the OPPOSITE and MORE EFFECTIVE.

Time spent denouncing him is NOT PRODUCTIVE. It crushes hope and joy and thus immobilizes. It suppresses the will to take positive action. When we are overwhelmed by his shit, we lose ourselves. When we feel like screaming "how can 'they' not see this?" we are on road to cynicism and hopelessness; we are on the road to feeling powerless. It saps us.

Never stop talking up OUR PARTY, Love of Country, and the Power of Citizens to shape a better society.

With Democrats things get better. Period. And we need Democrats back in power. Stand up for our party in some way 365 days a year every year.
