With talks over government spending faltering this week, it was Vance who was at the Capitol meeting with Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and other top Republicans late Wednesday night [ Dec. 18 ] to negotiate a path forward after an initial agreement was spiked, with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy kicking off a wave of public criticism of the bill.

He's still a senator and presumably the Senate had a minor thing or two to do last week. Just hazarding a guess, nothing in the news about it. Just no Vance media appearances. And since he's doing nothing outrage-inducing, what he does is not really salient for the MSM and is most certainly not pulled into DU.

Since the peds cancer funding bill passed by consent, he didn't file an objection.

He was not present for the vote to pass the CR on 12/21/24.
