I'm sure this will surprise no one, but

CNN and MSNBC are continuing to sanitize the pure lunacy of both trump and musk just as they did during the election. I tuned in this morning for the first time in weeks and they are busy explaining what MAGA is up to as if there is some grand plan.

And just as they ignored the completely deranged tweets from trump during the election, they are not covering the one from musk where he tells other Magas to @@## themselves in the face. There is no justification for ignoring this considering the power this person has. No journalistic reason to ignore it and no moral reason either.

I am even more resolved to not watch them again. Their coverage is worse than useless and he hasn't even taken office yet.

12. ABC is not MSNBC

MSNBC hasn't settled any lawsuits. Don't blame one for what another has done. Let's champion the networks that don't settle.
Trump will go after Rachel and she won't settle. I don't know what her owners would do, but she wouldn't go along with it. Let's be there for her. Yes, I trust her completely.

4. Does MSNBC not get the fact that they are losing viewers because they have become part of the fallen free press?

Do they not realize how big of an audience they would have if they truly became a progressive news channel?

11. They are losing viewers because we are depressed

and it's hard to watch what is going on. Plus, viewership always falls off for some time after a presidential election. MSNBC was panicking over lost ratings right after Obama got elected. That recovered, of course.

Most of us are having to change our media intake to just survive the next 4 years. The problem is, where do we get our information if we desert the most liberal news network? We need strategies to keep them alive, not take them down.

Please explain to me how Rachel Maddow or Chris Hayes, or the any of the evening anchors, could be more progressive than they are. I don't even think Bernie Sanders could be more left than Rachel and Chris these days. Is he left enough for you? What would it take? I'm just hoping they survive the Trump presidency without going to jail.

What needs to change is the conservative ownership. The anchors who have had to walk the tightrope between their viewership and their conservative owners have a harder job then ever. A demoralized viewership that just want's a break, and a fascist government that wants to silence the the whole network. But we are going to trash them because they aren't left enough? With friends like these....

Someone needs to remind people that we all used to watch only 2 news programs per day — one local, one national. That was BC — Before Cable.

In our household, my husband watches PBS News Hour in the evening. I usually watch Nicolle every day (altho less so lately as I recover from the election) and expect to do that in 2025. I watch Rachel once weekly, when her program airs.

I will drop MSNBC if, and only if, those two leave.

Nicolle and Rachel are two of them. Nicolle can facilitate an important discussion better than most.

I find Chris Hayes and Lawrence O'D and Ali Velshi worth watching, as well.

their owners require it of them. And they don't have the ethics or sense of moral duty to quit. The money is obviously too good.

I had a thought earlier today while reading someone talking about our "exceptionalism"... and I'm convinced the only reason we are... or were... considered exceptional was financial.... period. When Trump is done with the country, no one will ever think of us as "exceptional" again. The money won't flow to any country that needs it... only to those who bow down and praise trump. I would say the world is in for a great awakening, but I think Americans, for the most part, are in for the biggest awakening (even tho they don't want to be "woke&quot

10. I seem to be watching different shows than you all

I watch mostly Rachel and Chris Hayes, but when I watch Nicole, Ari, Lawrence, Alex, Joy, Velshi....all of them as far as I'm concerned are tearing Trump, Elon, and the whole fascist oligarchy apart. I fear what would happen if we lose MSNBC. I don't know what all the proposed changes will result in, or what Trump will do to them, but if we abandon them in advance how can they possibly survive?

Throwing MSNBC in the same basket as CNN doesn't help. CNN has recently swung sharply to the right. It's RW owners and recently installed RW CEO (look up what Kieth Olbermann thinks of this guy) have clearly chosen to appease Trump. MSNBC anchors as far as I can see are standing up to him, putting themselves at risk, and all we can do is complain that they are not doing enough. I don't watch much daytime and I know some anchors like Kristen Welker or Katy Tur aren't tough enough to my liking. But I have too much to watch anyway with the very effective eveneing anchors.

When Trump investigates or prosecutes Rachel Maddow will we have her back? If the conservative owners of MSNBC threaten to fire her, will we cry foul? Or will we just say she wasn't liberal enough, because, CNN?

There has been noise about different buyers for MSNBC, with different political orientations. I don't know how that has or is playing out. But would we be there to support a more liberal owner, make it worth his while, over the conservatives who have kept the network in check, and will desert the cause as soon as the going gets tough?

If we want liberal media, we have to support it.

and just as quickly tune out. MSNBC was always pretty bad during the day, but I did use to listen to Morning Joe during Stephanie Miller ad breaks. No more.

They are all obeying in advance and don't deserve our attention.
