1. Profit will be interesting to see how it is calculated. "Tariffs will take in billions" is easy to say if you don't...

...count all the lost sales and business that foreign countries inflict by not buying US or travelling to the US. I suspect math will somehow be in Trump's favor if it is the government calculating it but in fact a lot of businesses will get hurt as collateral damage to the stupidity.

2. Trump says that tariffs will make trillions of dollars for the Fed

but he also says it will bring manufacturing back to the US.

Not a single reporter has asked how it can do both at the same time.

And if it makes us money, nobody has pointed out that it is the MOST REGRESSIVE tax in US history. taxing everyone that buys something from a foreign nation at the tariff tax on the exact cost of the good.

Buy a avocado or coffee bean from Mexico, billionaires and the plumber pay the same amount of tax on those items... many of which CANNOT be sourced in the USA no matter what tariff rate is set on that avocado.

So the billionaire pays the tariff and the plumber does without. But there are only SO many millionaires and billionaires... and that doesn't raise diddly squat for the treasury.
