I heard that April 20 was the date that they expect T to declare martial law.
It was among a thread on reddit and I can't even remember which subreddit it where it came up. So, unfortunately I have no link.
The date is significant as it's Hitler's birthday. And supposedly when some more national guardsmen were sent to the southern border in the first weeks of his taking office there was an official government description that said the guardsmen were to secure the border and assess the situation and report their findings back after 90 days.
I apologize for not having a link to that at the very least, but I'm bumbling around on a broken-screen phone that has dead spots across my keyboard, so typing this post out is already taking an annoyingly long time. And this break neck breaking-news reporting alerting us to the most recent part of our country that elon is breaking..? It is wearing me down. So, remove this if necessary. But maybe someone here could locate the government statement or order regarding that deployment of the guard.
I believe Trump has been itching to attack Mexico since his first term and now he knows he won't be stopped. And probably all the shit-talking he did to taunt Trudeau was a part of this plan. Maybe even the stuff he's been saying about Panama and Greenland, too. He just needs one country to make a mildly threatening remark back to him so he can invoke martial law.
Once he was sworn in the 2nd time it was headed straight to this moment when Trump and Elon and the DoJ say plainly and publicly: Nobody can stop us from any action we want to make!
The dems had absolutely no chance of stopping this. Neither did any republican in congress. John Roberts' response to trump about the judge who ruled against the deportations was surprising. But much too little and way too late. Roberts doesn't come across as someone (the only one) who will have the courage to do his job and fucking Check the Executive power!!
At this point, isn't Justice Roberts the last stand? I mean, constitutionally? If he, and the rest of the Supremes don't take literal action here and now, then it will mean that fat orange fuck has reached the finish line and officially broke the United States of America .
Of course, it will feel the same as always for awhile while congress and media flap around asking each other "what can be done now?"
But it's already done. Why would trump or his administration even bother to do anything at all by the rules?
So sad and scary.
