I see the National Security Advisor Mike Waltz was to accompany her on a "cultural and unity" visit, but that's changed. Now it appears the Veep will accompany his wife to visit our base there and catch up on security briefs. There is no longer a mention of Waltz, and the dog sled race is apparently out.

The reason I see for concern is that Trump would love to have his own "Remember The Maine" incident to warrant the attack plans he has surely drawn up. I can't say Trump would trade the lives of his own vice president and his wife for an excuse to take Greenland, but I'll ask Mike Pence what he thinks.

Since Vance second guessed Trump on the Signal text he may have been told to take Waltz's place.

Thule Air Force Base (no matter what it's called now) is in a remote and desolate area. She will mostly be indoors, with a brief walk outside to experience it (cold, ennit?). She could get the same experience and knowledge by viewing the presentations on a Signal chat room from the comfort of a ski lodge in Vermont.
