US officials go door-to-door in Greenland, find no one who wants visit from the Vances

A local travel company in Greenland’s capital also cancelled a planned visit by Usha Vance

... US officials have reportedly been traveling around the Danish-controlled territory looking for locals who wanted to receive a visit from the Second Lady, according to a report from Danish TV 2.

Greenlanders' response? No thanks.

Residents aren't the only ones snubbing the Second Lady ahead of her high-profile visit to the island; Tupilak Travel, which is based in Greenland's capital city, Nuuk, initially said it would host Usha Vance, but pulled out on Thursday.

In a post on Facebook, the company said that the US Consulate called and asked if it wanted the visit, and the company initially said yes, but then backed out ...

I try to be a mature person, and maybe that would be a tiny bit easier with Vance's wife, but unless they had their young kids as their manipulated "human shields," then I could not swear I would be 100% civil. (And if any of them--including their SS detail--even looked askance at my sweet aging girlie dog, I'd likely lose it).

Nuuk, Greenland — ... It is a semi-autonomous territory of Denmark, which is one of America's European NATO allies. On Thursday, the Danish Defense Minister said his country would not allow the U.S. to decide Greenland's future, but the giant, frozen island near the top of the world has been dragged against Denmark's will, and the will of its people, into a geopolitical storm by Mr. Trump's repeated threats to take control.

The U.S. president says American must control Greenland for security reasons, and he has refused to rule out using force to make that a reality.

But a recent poll shows 85% of Greenlanders do not want to be part of the United States, and residents who spoke with CBS News ahead of Vance's visit to a remote U.S. installation on the island — America's furthest north military base — clearly reflected the sentiments shown in that poll.

"He can't just take it like that," said Daniel Rosing, a trainee electrician who said he was proud of being a Greenlander ...

NUUK, Greenland — Just 150 miles south of the Arctic Circle, in Nuuk, the world’s northernmost capital, locals were preparing to receive U.S. Vice President JD Vance with what they were calling the “Arctic cold shoulder,” a nod to the diplomatic fallout sparked by President Donald Trump’s repeated suggestions that the U.S. should take over Greenland.

“We have always looked at America like the nice big brother to help you out and now it’s like the big brother in bullying you,” Anders Laursen, 41, the owner of a local water taxi company, told NBC News on Thursday.

“Growing up you see Hollywood movies, all the heroes and then you feel backstabbed and you feel like an ally that’s just gone the other way round and you’re like, ‘This can’t be happening, this is not the America we knew,’” added Laursen ...

She can meet with the homeless people that got a free meal and free hat from Trump Jr.

Maybe even the drug dealer that Trump bragged about who favored America taking over Greenland.
