Why Trump wants Greenland

1. There's nothing genius about trump. The opposite maybe, but certainly not genius.

Let us know when he captures Canada, Greenland and Panama.

2. He looked at the map

And chose a victim who he thought would be easy.

Just like the coward does with his other victims.

3. Also, the projection that map's based on makes Greenland look huge

It's big, but not that big. Here's Greenland superimposed on Africa:

The Mercator projection creates increasing distortions of size as you move away from the equator.
As you get closer to the poles the distortion becomes severe.

Cartographers refer to the inability to compare size on a Mercator projection as "the Greenland Problem."
Greenland appears to be the same size as Africa, yet Africa's land mass is actually fourteen times larger ....

Since I've grown to strongly suspect that when Trump talks about water resources, he assumes water flows towards the bottom of a map, I reckon no one's been able to convince him that Greenland's size isn't on a par with the US itself.

so he can keep rolling the dice. Maybe he'll attack Kamchatka next. Risk!
