Is it asking about brand, flavor, region, ingredients, company?

I like them from Portugal, Morocco, sometimes Europe.

King Oscar's were Royalty back in the day. Only had them a couple times in the last 10 years, they were nothing remarkable.

I don't like sardines branded under our national labels.

I find ALDI's house brand pretty good.

I once got a tin of sardines that looked somewhat larger than usual. Many were full of very well-developed eggs, triggering my gag reflex. I have no problem with fish roe generally, but it looked bloody revolting in situ like that in the can.

When I was a child, they were a special treat, served with saltine crackers by my mother, whenever my father was out of town. He hated them.

I've eaten many different brands from many different places. Mostly, I like them all, but don't like to pay the high prices for the "cool" ones. So, King Oscar sardines are just fine for me, and I like all of those, except for the ones in mustard. Those, I skip..

Side note: There are several YouTube channels of people trying every available sardine. If you like sardines, check those out by searching for "sardines" on YouTube. Fun.

I never knew what to get him for Christmas & usually got him a flannel shirt but one year I was working at a grocery store next to a liquor store & they happened to have Billy Beer so I bought a case & a couple of cans of sardines. The Billy Beer was a huge hit at the family bash since it was hard to find, & many years later he told me that was one of the best Christmas presents he ever got.

I think there was a type packed with mustard (?) that we'd wrap with pumpernickel bread & Swiss cheese.

but doesn't this belong in the lounge? That being said, I'll weigh in. Don't think I ever had sardines, but a favorite of my grandparents when I was growing up was kippered snack in a tin. I guess it was some kind of pickled herring or something. I'm a picky eater, but it was actually pretty good.
