Nightline
I remember when Nightline started. I watched it faithfully and then went to bed. I had a new baby then, and the state of the world terrified me. They told us, "Day One," "Day Fifteen," etc., etc., of the Iran hostage crisis, until it was over and Iran and Reagan had tanked the Presidency of a good man. I don't think Nightline is all that relevant these days.
Each day, I am reminded of Nightline's early days as another day of the trump presidency passes and a new outrage is revealed. How should Democrats respond? What should ordinary Americans do? Should we have a countdown, or countup, like Nightline? Should we keep a wary eye on trump, while promoting other news that has nothing to do with him? He hates it when he is out of the limelight. Our late night talk show hosts are good at laughing at him. We could keep them in the spotlight, too. He hates being laughed at.
Our media is nearly useless. The real and mock town halls are a good response. So are the demonstrations now taking place. Any other ideas would be welcome.
Just speculating. Thanks for reading.
