taken down since 2020.
The order doesn't use the word "Confederate" but the intent is clear.

Well, at least he hasn't yet ordered monuments honoring the slave trade as supposedly making Amerjcan capitalism great and actually helping the slaves. But I wouldn't be surprised if there are people around him who want that.

I'm waiting to see when I lose my voting rights or the ability to have my own bank account.
Not that I would need one considering what they're about to do to SS funds.

(13,575 posts)When we went to St. Petersburg Russia, over 20 years ago, we saw a headless statue in one of the parks. Our tour guide told us that this was a very Russian thing. Statues were permanent structures, but the heads were removable. Every time there was a change in politics, they would remove the head and put the head of the new guy atop the statue. We all roared in laughter, including the Russians that had joined the tour.

(11,013 posts)does not matter to these people - I can see someone in Congress introducing a bill to require all states - even those admitted well after 1865 - to display monuments to the Confederacy at their expense or lose Federal funding

Most of them are in City squares or something...
So this only applies to National Parks... like battlefields or some museums?
