Tuberville wants to kill the TSA

I just received this email from Tuberville :

Coach Tuberville here…

Every day, millions of Americans head to the airport to travel for work or vacations, and every day millions of Americans run into the bureaucratic nightmare that is the Transportation Security Administration, or TSA. Over the past two decades, it has ballooned into an over-bloated, inefficient agency of 60,000 employees. It is slow-moving, perpetually outdated, highly resistant to innovation and modernization, and simply ineffective. Put simply, the TSA provides minimal security benefits while infringing on Americans’ personal liberties and wasting their tax dollars.

We must focus on smarter, more effective methods to protect our country without sacrificing the liberties that make America great. That is why I have joined my good friend, Senator Mike Lee of Utah, in introducing the Abolish TSA Act. The privatization of airport security will allow for more targeted, streamlined, and accountable solutions to airport security. I hope more of my Senate colleagues will join us as we fight to put Americans’ liberties and safety first.

Typical magat think...... if something inconveniences me just kill it instead of working to improve it. Yes, it's a pain waiting through the security line (I usually have to fly out of Atlanta when I travel), it's an even bigger pain waiting in line to get through customs (the last time I flew internationally it took 2 hours to get through the customs line and that was at 11 PM - they were woefully understaffed). But damn, are we just gonna' let every redneck yahoo take his gun on planes?

2. GUESS WHAT privatization means? PROFIT MOTIVES. That WE will pay for when we travel.

MAGAt/Tea Party/John Birchers DESPISE any government agency that serves the public good and is not monetized to make money for fucking billionaires. When privatized, we get enshittified, and even dangerous "services" that cost twice or more as much.

It's BULLSHIT.

7. We need to start saying "profitize" instead of 'privatize.'

Government doesn't need to make a profit, not sure why these fidiots don't understand that.

Wonder which Trump crony will get the contract? Eric Prince? Maybe Elon will go into the security business with Trump.

5. Another agency Republicans want to privatize, no doubt at far higher costs and lower service than we have now.

No doubt, the private company will be an AI behemoth that will use algorithms to decide who gets through security and who does not. For those who do not, waiting for a real person to arrive and check your ID could take hours. For some reason, I often fail the photo ID even though my driver’s license is less than two years old. It’s a pain to wait for a manager now. Imagine the delays when few humans are around.

Would someone please ask the tech gurus how they think people are supposed to make a living when AI replaces millions of workers!
