Hell, I almost would like John Edwards as Attorney General than Holder.
For that matter the Bush appointed FBI chief needs to go to.

(5,818 posts)where suppression efforts are most blatant and the DOJ has the most power (from the 1965 Voting Rights preclearance provisions). Registration of crucial new voters will be able to go ahead as it did in 2008. Having won that battle, he can go after voter suppression in Virginia, NC, Pennsylvania, Ohio, etc.
What more do you want?
Have you boight into the ridiculous Fox "News" campaigns against Holder?

(13,792 posts)If he puts the screws to Florida and other states that are trying to supress the vote, if he does, keep him, if not, trash him. I myself would have fired almost all of his cabinet back in 2010, but.

That's all Obama would've needed back then, even more unfavorable comparisons to Carter.

(5,610 posts)I thought he did. IMO, Holder has enforced the wrong laws and ignored the important ones. I thought that this was totally reflective of the priorities of our President.

(3,845 posts)I don't care whether he does so by directing AG Holder to do it or by replacing him with someone else. We don't know from whom (the President or the AG) the hands-off, look forward policy originated but, since the President explained and justified it to the American people, he owns it and it's up to him to reverse it. My suspicion is that Holder is just doing what the President has directed him to (maybe in an indirect way... wink, nod... for plausible deniability purposes). If it works better to keep Holder and begin applying the law then that's fine. If they need some excuse to begin applying the law, like a new face, then that's fine too. They (meaning the President mainly) just need to start applying the law.
