The GOP IMO will not let Trump be the nominee, too much going on behind the scenes now. What are your thoughts?

(22,336 posts)And replacing the person voters chose might hurt them even more than Trump will.

(45,728 posts)Only possibility is if he pulls out for health reasons or something like that.

(4,311 posts)aren't gonna rise up and get behind Ryan, or Kasich, or whoever. They're pretty excited that the racism embedded in the Republican party isn't a secret anymore, and they're not going to take it lying down if the Repub establishment try to put it back in the closet. They are OUT AND PROUD!

(12,263 posts)Before they get a chance to fire him. When he has to spend his own money, he'll get out.

(2,518 posts)...will be a Donald Trump health emergency. Probably in the form of a heart attack while schtupping his supermodel wife. It might come before the convention, however, giving the GOP an opportunity to replace him.

(1,957 posts)He is a stalking horse.
The 1% (not the GOP) believe that Hillary is the weaker candidate and did everything they could to make sure she was chosen... like the media business.
Now they don't need Trump anymore.
And even if Hillary does win... 4 more years like the last 8. IOW, no change in the status quo. No change in Wall Street. No change in outsourcing and wage slavery. No change in our foreign policies.
Life is good when you don't have to fly out of the commercial terminal.

(14,414 posts)Seems more like the Media patched this FrankenTrump together and marched him out everywhere and anywhere. Bernie wins states? What does Trump say about it? Hillary wins states? What does Trump say about it? Hillary likely wins nomination? What does Trump think? Trump, Trump, Trump and Trump supporters, Trump...
They will NOT want to easily give up this incredible cash cow. I say they'll back Trump all the way, at least till an October Surprise.

(20,886 posts)I'm not sure how they will do it, but they cannot have him in the Oval Office. He's a loose canon that they can't control, and believe it or not, has too many "liberal" ideas for them. I'm guessing Trump will pull out for health reasons, possibly those of his family, if you catch my drift.
They will either put in a strong candidate, if they can find one somewhere. Or let Hillary win, which will leave them with status quo, which will still load the court with conservative judges.

(43,784 posts)But not out of the realm of possibility that he gets coup'ed. Which would be a hilarious trainwreck both for Trump and the GOP.

(3,072 posts)A month ago, I would have said 100% chance, absolutely. Today, I will go with 75% chance. The things that seems to be scaring the republicans the most is trump's lack of money, lack of fundraising for the party, and a campaign organization that is two guys in a garage with a Commodore 64. If they feel his incompetence in fundraising and organizing is dragging them down or even if more details about the extreme dysfunction are revealed then there may be a coup. You know every major player and person with influence in the GOP has a pros and cons list written up on keeping him and overthrowing him.
