The Plaza--- 10 miles from my home and in the heart of Orlando. My own daughter works two doors down.Singer Christina Grimmie died early Saturday after being shot inside the Plaza Live concert venue in Orlando Friday night, police said.
The shooting was reported at the Bumby Avenue venue east of downtown about 10:30 p.m. after a concert by the band Before you Exit and Grimmie, who has appeared on NBC's singing competition, The Voice.
Grimmie, 22, opened the show, then Before You Exit took the stage. The show ended about 10 p.m., police spokeswoman Wanda Miglio said.
After the show, Grimmie and the band signed autographs near a merchandise table inside.
hat's when a man armed with two guns walked up and opened fire on her, Miglio said. She was hit at least once.
Her brother tackled the suspect to the ground. The suspect then fatally shot himself.

But it's still an artifact of Male Entitlement/Rape Culture.

(3,231 posts)I keep hearing on the radio - no motive - well, that's a crock of shit - the motive was most likely a guy not getting a woman he thought he was entitled to, so he killed her. Story as old as time. I am so disgusted.

Men do it all the time...how many femicides come from that motive? Tons.
How effing clueless ..or is it a deep cultural need to deny the reality of misogyny? Why not? Racism is regularly denied by racists....
