Has anybody thought of this

I know it would be illegal for any party to do this, but has anybody thought of an independent fund that could pay who are below the poverty limit for people to get state IDs? I know there may be problems with this, such as making sure that people use the money to buy identification cards and the obvious one that we may occasionally be paying for the ID of a Republican "that is a risk we may have to take", but I think this would be a great way to combat the discriminatory voter ID laws that the Republicans are putting in play.

needed to get to that point. Men might only need to pay to get their birth certificate (if there even is one), but women often need to get many more legal papers to prove their identity. Start with a birth certificate, then a marriage license to show the name change, then there might be a death certificate or divorce decree for her spouse, followed by another marriage license and a different name change. All these legal docs cost money, plus time off work or child care, and a long trip to various state offices to get them all processed just so the person can get the photo ID needed to register to vote.

Republicans did this deliberately to discourage as many people as possible from voting. The discrimination is intentional and there is no solution until there is a federal law that 100% bans any form of voter suppression tactics.
