There are rumblings of mass protests or nationwide economic boycotts...

...and there are also those who claim protests and boycotts don't work.

I'll agree there have been protests and boycotts that haven't worked in the past, but it should also be known that there have been those that HAVE worked.

It only takes 3.5% of a population to bring about substantial change...

The '3.5% rule': How a small minority can change the world -BBC

“There weren’t any campaigns that had failed after they had achieved 3.5% participation during a peak event,” says Chenoweth – a phenomenon she has called the “3.5% rule”. Besides the People Power movement, that included the Singing Revolution in Estonia in the late 1980s and the Rose Revolution in Georgia in the early 2003.

7. Convincing the 3.5% of Republicans who fear this shitshow would be the fastest and most effective, IMO

We need to stop demonizing them, writing them off as hopeless. We need to quit feeling hopeless ourselves, and start contacting Republicans to persuade them to stop this madness.

It would take only 3.5% of them to say no to Trump's saboteur nominees, and to begin to right the ship.

I firmly believe that out of about 300 Republicans in the house and senate, there are 3.5% who can be persuaded. But we have to do the work of finding them, and appealing to their more humanitarian instincts.

It won't be done by being hateful or demeaning to them. Invite them to be heroes, not destroyers.
