Bernie Sanders most retweeted candidate during debate
Source: Politico
The Republican candidates on Thursday nights stage may have all been fighting for attention, but who really stole the show (at least on Twitter) was a presidential candidate from the opposite party.
Bernie Sanders had the most retweeted presidential candidate tweet during the debate, according to Twitter Friday afternoon.
Most-retweeted presidential candidate Tweet of #GOPDebate came from Democrat @BernieSanders, Twitters government tracking arm tweeted.
Sanders tweet, which read Its over. Not one word about economic inequality, climate change, Citizens United or student debt. Thats why the Rs are so out of touch, had been retweeted nearly 22,000 times as of Friday afternoon.

(51,076 posts)I say he has this election in the bag already. We're just going through the motions now.
All the way over to Washington he has had to change venues because his earlier one for sunday was not going to be large enough. An estimated 20,000 plus are expected to attend.
A while back the hillbots were saying he won't play well out of his own playground of the Vermont area. LOL
How many has any of the other candidates drew at any one event?

(1,986 posts)What may help to take away the negative connotation is that Bernie proudly calls himself a socialist. And he's a nice guy. So nice guys can be self-proclaimed socialists. Who'da thunk it?

(23,867 posts)I've waited decades for one person to get real coverage on simply stating the truth. We all remember an empty chamber with Robert Byrd and his constitution, speaking up against the war. It's pretty far and few between.
A real representative.

(11,148 posts)and imaginary issues. Planned Parenthood selling baby parts? That might want to believe that happens. Mexico "sending" illegal immigrants into the US? The proof that happens? Trump "talks to people" and they tell him things. Walker claims Wisconsin has done a great job recovering from the economic problems of the Great (Bush) Recession. When the question was, how come your state has lagged so far behind in its recovery (though they didn't mention Minnesota, the Democratically controlled state that did the opposite of Walker and has fared so very much better). They still want to repeal Obamacare, and replace it with, well, mumble, mumble, mumble. They don't like the idea of national education standards. They want that left to the varying whims of the states. So, in the world of global competition, they're OK with some states teaching science based on the Bible.
But the biggest issue in the world, climate change, got not one word. A couple of them did say they want to disband the EPA. Income inequality? No mention. They just promise to grow the economy. How? Mumble, mumble, mumble. Citizens United? C'mon, if anything, they like that. That's their primary source of advertising money. Student debt? Somebody said the federal government should have no involvement in education, which likely means they want to disband the Department of Education as well as the EPA.
