"After winning two elections, LePage said voting system in Maine is illegitimate"
Source: Bangordailynews.com
Good morning from Augusta, where Gov. Paul LePage has joined Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in calling elections in Maine and the United States illegitimate.
During his weekly Tuesday morning phone chat on WVOM radio, LePage said that as long as Maine doesnt require voters to provide identification, the system cannot be trusted.
I am not confident that we are going to have a clean election in Maine, said LePage in response to a question from the hosts, who introduced it by noting that LePage has won two statewide elections under the same system he now questions. The Democratic Party insists on not having IDs. Will people from the cemetery be voting? Yes, all around the country. The media and the Democratic Party want everyone to vote, whether theyre citizens or not.

(28,017 posts)After all, he did win twice. Sure sound illegitimate to mois.
LePig threatened to quit several times, didn't he? And he chickened out each time, knowing that he would be hard pressed to get a job in the real whirled?

More legitimately, it does still have flaws. The strategic "voting against the worst candidate" and vote splitting are still potentially a problem.

(51,691 posts)What works really well is the Washington system: only the top two candidates, regardless of party, in the primary election go on to the general. This has put two Republicans on the general election ballot several times, but it beats the hell out of letting spoiler candidates put unmitigated disasters like Paul Le Page in office.

(6,496 posts)LePage uses his governorship as a bully pulpit to say whatever stupid shit he wants. He doesn't have to provide any details. It is just shit from his head supported by anecdotal evidence or nothing at all. He says stupid shit just about every day. It's how he reminds us all that he is still alive and still an asshole.

Do I still have time to register all my dead formerly Democratic relatives in Calvary cemetery in South Portland? They were mostly those immigrants who came to America to steal our jobs.
