Alan Thicke Dead - 'Growing Pains' Actor Dies at 69

Such sad news Alan Thicke, best known for his work on Growing Pains and for being the father of singer Robin Thicke, has died at the age of 69.
The legendary actor reportedly had a heart attack while playing hockey with his 19-year-old son Carter on Tuesday (December 13) and was pronounced dead at Providence St. Josephs Medical Center in Burbank, Calif.
Alan is an organ donor and a company was called to recover some of his organs, according to TMZ.

I just saw one of his IRS commercials and thought he looked kind of old. Well, he was pushing 70.

(9,372 posts)I learned this morning that Alan Thicke was more than just an actor. He was also a composer. He composed the theme songs for Different Strokes, Wheel of Fortune (the original version), and The Facts of Life, among other shows.
