Donald Trump calls off press conference where he said he would share report on Georgia election frau
Source: Politico.com
The former president said his lawyers would instead put Irrefutable & Overwhelming evidence in their legal filings over his latest indictment.
Former President Donald Trump will no longer hold a news conference nor release a supposed extensive report that he previously said would clear him and his allies of wrongdoing in the wake of his latest indictment by a Georgia grand jury, he said on Thursday.
Rather than releasing the Report on the Rigged & Stolen Georgia 2020 Presidential Election on Monday, my lawyers would prefer putting this, I believe, Irrefutable & Overwhelming evidence of Election Fraud & Irregularities in formal Legal Filings as we fight to dismiss this disgraceful Indictment by a publicity & campaign finance seeking D.A., who sadly presides over a record breaking Murder & Violent Crime area, Atlanta. Therefore, the News Conference is no longer necessary!

I would also use a clip from the SNL character played by Jon Lovitz, the slick con-man who kept changing his 'line' ----
"Yeah, THAT'S the ticket!"
Sad thing is, those guys were paid comedians............ tRump - a thief and a fraud.

Mick who picked up on what was going on. Mick said to Jerry, "Remember that night last week when I came home late and you asked where I had been? This is the fellow I was with. We doing some night fishing."

(4,741 posts)He won't go anywhere.
Everything is stacked against him making a getaway. He's too famous to slip through an airport unnoticed. He has federal eyes on him at all times (Secret Service).
The only non-extradition countries his plane can reach without refueling are Russia and Cuba, and Cuba hates his guts. They won't help him in the least. To reach Russia, he has to fly out of Alaska, with flight plans for Siberia. Do you seriously think that if he heads to Alaska, federal airport employees (whom he screwed over) won't rat him out to hundreds of federal agents who will be there waiting to greet him?
Besides, he'd rather die than admit that he was having to run away, and he's too arrogant to think he'll lose in court, either.
He's not going anywhere.
Too many people don't *think* about what leaving would require for him.

(345 posts)The crime that TIG (and conspirators) did does not depend on whether the voting in Georgia was fraudulent. There are perfectly legal, non-criminal methods to address that fraud. TIG and fellow conspirators chose to commit crimes to deal with what they thought was voting irregularities.
For example, if some person were to park in my driveway at my home, I can call a tow truck and have the vehicle towed. A perfectly legal method to deal with a (not-at-all serious) criminal act (of trespassing?). What I can't do is bash the windows in, deflate the tires, pour sugar into the gas tank, set fire to the engine block, take a baseball bat to the front and rear lights, and slash the interior. Even if the car was illegally parked in my driveway.
Justice matters.
(7,592 posts)They know you can't present fabricated lies with zero irrefutable evidence to back them up in any court of justice in front of a judge.
If they're crazy enough to do it, they would risk to get indicted themselves!

(14,351 posts)We're already been through this in all the election lawsuits Trump initiated - there are legal consequences for submitting fake evidence in court. Even his strip-mall lawyers know this.
There were all these claims that they would make on TV and Twitter, but a complete lack of evidence when they went to court.
He has nothing that he can use except unsupported accusations and de-bunked conspiracy nonsense.
