FBI director suggests Donald Trump may not have been struck by bullet during assassination attempt at rally

The FBI’s director has revealed that investigators still do not know whether it was a bullet or some shrapnel which grazed Donald Trump’s ear during his attempted assassination.

Christopher Wray told a marathon session of the US House Judiciary Committee that the FBI was still working to determine exactly what hit the former president’s ear during the shooting.

“My understanding is that either it [a bullet] or some shrapnel is what grazed his ear,” he said.

Asked by lawmakers if the FBI knew where all eight bullets fired by shooter Thomas Crooks at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Mr Wray added: “There is some question about whether or not it was a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear, so it is conceivable, as I sit here right now, I don’t know whether that bullet, in addition to causing the grazing, could have also landed somewhere else.”................

As far as I know, Trump has not responded to Wray's comment about the FBI not knowing if it was a bullet or shrapnel that hit Trump's ear.
Trump has said that he was struck by a bullet.

4. So, they haven't recovered the bullets yet?

Then they can't prove he was hit by one. For all we know, with that small amount of bleeding, someone hit him from behind with a powerful spitball.

Maybe we should spread that rumor.

If this sociopath had a 7.62 instead, we'd very likely all be in an unthinkable world of shit right now.

are his shoes OK? That's what concerned him the most in the moment - not his ear.

He probably hates that there are pics out there of the back of his head with the dinner plate-sized bald spot.

Such a narcissist.

13. I recall seeing a photo that captured 'something' whizzing over his shoulder, presumed to be the bullet.

Mr. Wray suggests it may not have been a bullet. So if it was a projectile, what could it have been?

Has there been an analysis of the photo by an expert, to determine the possibility of it being a bullet as regards to speed, distance and angle? I also recall reading that it was a teleprompter fragment, but close-up images showed they were not damaged.

15. All we really need to know is the shutter speed of that photo

The speed of the projectile can be determined from the length of the streak it made, which looks to be only about 18 inches or so. If it was supersonic, then it was a bullet; otherwise it was shrapnel. I've been thinking of trying to contact the photographer to ask.

But to me, the fact that Trump said it made a "loud whizzing sound" (instead of sounding like a bullwhip, as a supersonic bullet would) is conclusive evidence it was shrapnel.
