RFK Jr. must be removed from North Carolina ballots, state Supreme Court rules

Source: NBC News

The North Carolina Supreme Court ruled Monday to remove former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from state ballots ahead of the general election.

The 4-3 ruling upholds an appeals court ruling Friday that said Kennedy’s name should be taken off the ballot. A lower court had previously denied Kennedy’s effort to be removed. It also means ballots will need to be reprinted.

“We acknowledge that expediting the process of printing new ballots will require considerable time and effort by our election officials and significant expense to the State,” Justice Trey Allen wrote in Monday's majority opinion. “But that is a price the North Carolina Constitution expects us to incur to protect voters’ fundamental right to vote their conscience and have that vote count.”

Justices Anita Earls, Richard Dietz and Allison Riggs dissented. An attorney for Kennedy did not immediately respond to a request for comment Monday night.

I think he should incur the expense for expedited reprinting--given how late he notified them. They have until 21st... hlthe2b Sep 10 #1

Jr and the 4 judges should incur the cost. They don’t give a fuck, none of those 5 pay taxes.
The 4 judges could use their “Thomas style” TIPS to pay for it.

So one of them sided with us.

And we held the court 4-3 until the 2022 midterm elections.

I think rfk should pay for the new ballots.

To get his name off the ballot. How in the wide, wide world of fucks, does our state constitution require taking him off, when he fucked up? Goddamned Reichwingers on the NCSC were just doing Cantaloupe Caligula the Corpulent a fucking favor because they know votes for Kennedy would come out of Caligula’s hide.

Seem like they just want to help Trump. Leaving Kennedy on ballot wouldn't prevent anyone from voting anyway. And he missed the deadline, but the court says, we don't care. Deadlines don't matter. What if he asked a day before the freaking election?
