Harris campaign calls Trump 'faded image of his former self'

Source: The Hill

A spokesperson for Vice President Harris’s campaign went after former President Trump on Fox News, alleging he does not bring the same level of excitement as he used to and that it is reflected in the crowd sizes at his rallies. Fox News host Neil Cavuto asked Ian Sams, the campaign’s senior spokesperson, if he would acknowledge, that while the ex-president “might stretch certain truths a little far,” his crowd sizes “are significantly bigger than Kamala Harris’s crowds.”

“I’m not sure if you have been watching crowds and rallies over the last couple of months, and I don’t think that’s the case,” Sams said during his Friday appearance on Cavuto’s “Your World,” show. “I think we’ve seen a lot of people who are wandering off in the middle of 45-minute-long rants about electric sharks and Hannibal Lecter …”

Cavuto said both White House candidates lose roughly the same amount of people as rallies go on. He then asked Sams if he would say that Trump can still “pack them in.”

“He used to,” Sams replied. “He’s a faded image of his former self. I think in 2016, he had a lot more excitement and a lot more people showing up. I think now, you know, we’re on season nine of this show and maybe they’ve lost the plot a little bit, and I think would prefer a new set of characters.”

1. This is a smart strategy. It lets people who used to support him keep their dignity.

Instead of forcing people to admit that Trump was always a loser, it's easier to convince people that he's lost his mojo.

Whatever it takes.

It can peel off lots of former Trump voters by providing a graceful exit ramp from the cult. If the Harris campaign pushes on this, I would think they can move the needle by another percent or more. They just have to get the message out so that the persuadable hear it at least 3 times.

The entire world is aware of the stink of his shit, not so many want that stench to hang around. People want to move forward, he can't offer that because he is incapable.

6. The difference between musicians and comics.

If you're a musician, people will come out to see you play your hits. They don't care about your new songs. They payed to see Jimmy Buffett play Margaritaville for 40 years.

If you're a comic, people want to see you tell new jokes. The only comic to ever make a living telling the same four jokes over and over was Gallagher, and he didn't do the Sledge-O-Matic joke until last or his audience would left halfway through, too.

This seems to imply that he once had worthy stature, or at least it could be interpreted so. Dissimulation, IOW, for reasons I suppose make sense to the candidate.
