Harris campaign comms director: Americans 'deserve a second debate'

Harris-Walz Communications Director Michael Tyler said Sunday that the American people “deserve a second debate” and signaled he was “confident” there would be another one. In an interview on Fox News’s “MediaBuzz,” host Howard Kurtz pressed Tyler on his skepticism of former President Trump’s insistence that he won’t do another debate, asking, “Why do you think he might change his mind?”

“Yeah, that’s clearly what he’s saying since the debate ended,” Tyler said about Trump declining to participate in another debate, “but I think he’s even begun to hedge a little bit since then.”

“The vice president has been very clear: She thinks that the American people deserve another opportunity to see what they saw on Tuesday night, right, that clear contrast of visions between her, who wants to take this country forward, and Donald Trump, who wants to take us backwards, through his extreme Project 2025 agenda,” Tyler continued.

“Obviously, they’re playing games right now, but at the end of the day, we believe that the American people deserve a second debate and we’re confident that’s what they’ll see in October,” he added. Trump said Thursday he would not participate in another debate with Vice President Harris.

1. Depending on what happens in the polls, it might cause Trump to change his tune.

If Kamala opens up a wide enough lead in the polls, especially in the key battleground states, then I think that would pressure Trump into another debate in a desperate attempt to salvage his campaign.

most likely be on Foxnews, OAN or Newsmax. Trump will insist on it and say he’s doing it because VP Harris insisted.

Her travel schedule is jam packed and the media has been whining about her "not doing more 1-on-1 interviews".

The VP debate is Oct. 1st so I expect they will wait to see what happens with it other than Walz wiping the floor with Vance, and that might settle it once and for all.

I think Harris has a real chance of winning NC. That would almost certainly finish Trump. Even JD Vance admitted it would be hard for Trump to win if he loses NC. Roy Cooper, governor of NC, said that if Harris wins NC, she'll become Madame President Kamala Harris.
