Iran Plot to Assassinate Benjamin Netanyahu Revealed

An Israel citizen has been arrested on suspicion of being paid by Iranian sources to assassinate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to Israeli police.

The citizen, who was not named, was reportedly approached by Iranian agents while living Turkey. Israeli security forces claim he was smuggled into Iran on multiple occasions to meet with other agents.

Israeli officials say that the plot began in April, when the citizen agreed to meet a wealthy businessman, named as Eddie, who was living in Iran for business purposes.

The citizen was approached by Turkish officials while living in Turkey for "a long period of time," who then connected them with the businessman and Iranian agents, according to Israeli officials.
