Matt Gaetz Attended Drug-Fueled Sex Party With High School Junior: New Court Filing

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) attended a 2017 drug-fuelled sex party that included underage girls, according to legal documents filed late-night Thursday and made available to the public. According to journalist Jose Pagliery at NOTUS, the documents cite sealed affidavits with testimony from three eyewitnesses.
The filing was reportedly written by defense lawyers seeking to recoup legal fees still due to them from a civil lawsuit brought by lobbyist and friend of Gaetz, Chris Dorworth, in 2023. Dorworth claimed hed been unfairly dragged into the sex trafficking scandal.
The affidavits were filed to knock down Dorworths claims he wasnt involved before he suddenly dropped the lawsuit this month.
In the documents the minor in question, who NOTUS reported was a junior in high school at the time is reported to have arrived at Dorworths Florida home, where the party allegedly took place. The three witnesses reportedly say Gaetz was at Dorworths house that night.

Not like that perverted fuckstain. We had our local state rep convicted of rape a few years back. One thing that made that possible was gullible crap we call judges in this state. Aaron von Ehlinger is his name. After he got out of the military, he had a string of misdemeanors. One of them was supplying alcohol to minors. He told them he was a good little Jesus MAGAt. That should be a red flag. That allowed him to be appointed to an empty seat and a 19-year-old girl was raped.

(30,327 posts)OTOH Many of us have been at parties when things happen. (I was 16 and got into trouble because a 15 yo runaway neighbor was raped after we left.)
Cops told us we had a duty to report that the runaway was there. Everyone knew her and no one could stand her or her mother. She was drunk and telling everyone that was "Gonna have sex with everyone".
We left at 11 pm and the stuff happened after we left.
The guys that raped her didn't get in trouble, but we did because the girl told her mother that we were there.
I literally asked to cops: "Why aren't you questioning any of the guys?"
Their answer: "They are adults" (I wonder if the girl even told her mom the name of the guys or just complained about us because of our ongoing feud?)
No charges were filed on the guys.
We got juvie records for attending a party with alcohol.
It will depend how involved Matt was.

(782 posts)That's one move I'd expect to try to make this go away. The female on the receiving end of Gaetz's attention was reportedly 17 at the time. It's currently 18 there, but it's 16 in much of the country, including in the states that share borders with Florida. It wouldn't make the drug issues go away, but puritanical America (as evidenced by reporting so far) seems much more outraged about the sex than about the drugs.

(8,640 posts)Repubs are disgusting. The excuses they'll use to justify their perversions are more lame by the day. Gaetz needs to be in prison.

(653 posts)I doubt it will happen with the GOP. Crude, lewd and possibly pedophile. Serve another term, sir!
In contrast, I saw Sen. Franken step down being pressured by his Senate colleagues for possible harassment charges.
