Iran fires missiles at Israel, IDF says

Last edited Tue Oct 1, 2024, 04:30 PM - Edit history (1)

Source: Washington Post

"Iran fired a barrage of missiles at Israel Tuesday, the country’s military said in a statement, in what Tehran said was retaliation for the killing of top figures in Hezbollah and Hamas. Sirens could be heard across Israel as people took shelter and streaks of flame lit up the skies. Authorities have since said the attack is over. Most of the missiles were intercepted, but there were “a few hits,” Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari said. Several people were reported injured but there were no known deaths. The strikes follow Israel’s killing of Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah, a key Tehran ally, and the start of an Israeli ground incursion into southern Lebanon."

1. Newz headline/sanewash: Iran "retaliates" against Israel

I just saw that flashing across the screen while I was out. I think it was CBS.

My understanding Ryan has been itching to start more so I don’t buy any retaliation, especially when Israel is already preoccupied with Gaza. It sounds ludicrous and contrived.

“Iran’s legal, rational, and legitimate response to the terrorist acts of the Zionist regime—which involved targeting Iranian nationals and interests and infringing upon the national sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran—has been duly carried out

This should be looked on as a "legitimate response" rather than an "escalation"?

Calling all of one side's strikes "escalation" and another's "retaliation" is silly, though.

Israel "escalates" and the terrorists "retaliate"

Israel is the aggressor because Israel exists- that is an intolerable crime to many.

defending every step of the way.
You might not want to know it, but I've previously posted all the times that Iran and its proxies have attacked Israel.

And Iran might not want the world to know it's the source of all Shia attacks on Israel, but IRAN IS. Iran continues to escalate from Gaza/Hamas to the northern Israel/Hezbollah front, and now from Iran itself.

Iran is the source of all arms and Iran is the the trainer of Hezbollah, which in turn has trained Hamas and Houthis that have attacked Israel.

That's only what Iran wants the Western allies of Israel to THINK what's happening. Anyone who has followed the timeline of battle since Oct 7 knows better.

To call Israel the aggressor is only factual if one ignores October 7.

But that is exactly what the anti-"Zionists" do. Pretend that never happened so it is always Israel "escalating". People pretend to be completely ignorant why Israel has struck in Lebanon and Yemen; like Israel just picked those countries out of a hat. Even when the provided links describe that attack on Israel from those countries, that is somehow missed.

Iran fired nearly 200 missiles at Israel and we have people calling it a token move and Iran didn't really mean to cause any damage. Just like the last time.

10. I see. Thanks. Totally agree. No American should ever misunderstand Iran's intent or make excuses or believe its lies.

Nor should any Democrat take a different stance on Israel than their party leader, Commander-in-Chief Joe Biden.

There is no trusting corporate media's both side framings in reference to Israel.
No one should believe the corporate hype that conveys even a hint of that.

12. Yes. Israel lobs missiles at itself all the time. Israel conducts terrorist actions against itself. Israel did Oct 7.

Israel forced people in Gaza to celebrate the 1200 murdered on Oct 7.

Unreal how far people will demonize Israel. But I guess I shouldn't say anything. My avatar and my religion expose me as a zionist I guess. But my people's blood has always been cheap and expendable.

When we don't fight back, we keep getting attacked.
When we fight back, we're wrong for fighting back.

Yes, bad Israel forcing Hamas to go on a murderous rampage killing & raping civilians at a evil music festival etc on Oct 7th and then making Hezbollah & the Houthi rebels attack them too, using mind tricks I assume?

They should just peacefully let the terrorists kill them so nobody gets hurt....(well nobody but Israeli's, right?)

contain their excitement. Since the US used 12 missiles from 2 destroyers to help shoot down Iranian missiles I guess that's the end of the phony line that "we are not involved". At least one would have thought but the State Dept. guy on TV sounded like he's still trying to sing that tune. Basically it boils down to "How dare you retaliate against our retaliation for your retaliation against our retalition!!!??? We promise you we will retaliate."

Gee hasn't every move made Israel safer and gotten closer to getting the hostages released?

their missile and drone attacks against Israel have shown.

Over 500 total missiles and drones in these last two large attacks have mostly been shot down, or caused very little damage and practically no casualties.

Israel's 'Iron Dome' is damned effective. Iran's offensive capabilities against them are clearly very ineffective.
