Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo made history earlier this year when in Mexico's largest election to date she became the first woman to be elected president. She's set to make history once more on Tuesday when she takes over leadership of the nation just south of the U.S. border.
All of the Indigenous and Afro-Mexicano tribes from the 32 states of Mexico were represented as Sheinbuam took part in the ceremony of the Bastón de Mando, or Baton, symbolically recognizing her as the legitimate leader of the country.
As Sheinbaum walked past the cornucopia of food displayed for the sacred ceremony, an indigenous woman handed Sheinbaum a paper scroll on what appeared to be a stalk of corn. "May our mother earth bless you always," she said.
The woman then led the crowd in a chanting of "Viva la cuarta transformacion! Viva los pueblos indigenas y Afro-Mexicanos! Viva Mexico!"
When the baton was handed to Sheinbaum, the crowd chanted "Presidenta!"

Sheinbaum looks like an excellent President. It's worth checking out her Wikipedia page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claudia_Sheinbaum
