Democrats Bullish On Chances For House Takeover A Month Out From Election Day

House Democrats, who have provided key votes to keep the government open and on other big issues even as a fractured Republican majority controlled the chamber, are feeling increasingly confident theyll win back the majority in November.
And at 30 days before Election Day, a new Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee strategy memo obtained by HuffPost gives them more reasons to feel that way, including seeing an edge for the average Democratic candidate over their opponent in competitive district races polling.
Democrats in Frontline and In Play districts are ahead by two points in the named head-to-head against their Republican opponent, according to the two-page memo, referring to a group of 67 expected-to-be-close races the DCCC is watching closely. House Democrats have the candidates, message, money, and mobilization efforts to connect with voters, and the DCCC is confident that we will build on this momentum in the closing weeks to win in November, the memo said.
Though each party likes to tout its chances as the days to Nov. 5 dwindle, the memo added to some other good news for Democrats. The respected Cook Political Report said Friday it was shifting its assessments of five House races two in Iowa and one each in Indiana, Illinois and Montana toward Democrats.

(142,233 posts)We saw that with Tim Ryan rejecting Biden/DNC "help" and he got his ass handed to him anyway, giving us Shady Vance.
We saw the same with a bunch of red state Dems who "ran away from" Obama after the ACA was passed and we were dealt a bloodbath in the 2010 elections, assisted by Citizen's United.
It might still be possible now that "an interface" has been initiated through association with the never-45ers (and other groups like Haley Voters for Harris, etc) and campaigning with them. I.e., those surrogates can go in and "soften the target" and then someone like Walz can go in.

(1,502 posts)the Senate is giving me a wee bit of trepidation. Hope we do because I want Congress to pass legislation and have more judicial appointments!!
Awhile back I read somewhere that the 2026 senate midterms looked better for dems so if we could get the senate this year that would be just what our democracy ordered.

(4,325 posts)damage done during the trump years... both of him in and out of office. We've got tons of stuff to change! First and foremost, we need to restore rights to those of us who had them stripped from us. Second, and just as important in my mind, is reforming the judiciary and getting rid of this 2-tier justice system in the country. It's appalling to us living here, and doesn't give us a good look to budding democracies (or those fighting to keep theirs). We have so much damage to repair.

(24,085 posts)w/ the criminal djt. They are not interesting in government for the masses but in government for solely their benefits, and dole out goodies to their rich friends like djt did in his first term. Kick them all out. They don't deserve it and this time around, instead of Garland piece-meal charging them one at a time etc. and taking the long ways to trial, convict and sentence them, do them all at once, for those who break the law to illegally get djt and others into power.
And replace Garland.
