Gwen Walz, the wife of vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, had a marathon day of campaigning in Omaha on Saturday at a rally, an impromptu stop at a local ice cream shop and a Nebraska Democratic Party fundraising gala.
"I know you all carry the world on your shoulders right now -- the 'Blue Dot' that could swing the presidential election," Walz, current first lady of Minnesota and a former teacher in Alliance, Nebraska, said during the evening gala. "That's a lot."
"We've got it," someone in the audience replied.
"That's what I was going to say," Walz said. "You've got it."
Gwen Walz, wife of vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, speaks Saturday during a campaign rally at Metropolitan Community College's Fort Omaha Campus. It was warm and windy as about 150 people gathered at the event. "Those winds, Nebraska," Gwen Walz said upon taking the stage, "those are the winds of change."
